The Official: The final season at The Boleyn Ground - in photographs - UPDATED 17/02/16
Please don't let this thread die as I think we could all help raising money for a good cause here. So please read on -

As final season at the Boleyn is upon us. I thought that it would be fitting to have an official thread for all of us to look at and perhaps contribute with photos using our mobiles to capture moments of all our match day experiences and rituals in and around the Boleyn Ground so that we can always look back at these in years to come.

We have the Europa League game this Thursday to begin with, then Werder Bremen at home and then 19 Premier League home games and hopefully some magical nights under the lights in the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup. So we have plenty of time to take photos and contribute.

What would be good, is to see is a variety of photos, not just of the actual games, pitch and the stadium etc; but perhaps photos that would not be obvious and not normally come up if you google searched ‘Upton Park stadium’.

It goes without saying that the very last game at Upton Park with the build-up and aftermath would be great photos to see. But perhaps everyone can take and add photos of their match day experiences in the surrounding areas and pictures inside the stand. Or photos of your seating area with your family, mates and the crowds around you.

Photo’s of your walk to the ground, the queues, your usual chippy or inside the pie & mash shop you normally go to. Upton Park underground station, on the tube, the platform, the dreaded queue after the game. Having a half time beer in the stand. Perhaps even photos of the stadium that you would not normally think to photograph such as the price list of the food & drinks bar in the stands so in 25 or 50 years time we can see what it cost for a beer, or a pie. Maybe a photo of the inner stand structure or a photo of programme seller or burger van you go to on the way to the ground, or you and your favourite barmaid. Basically any part of your match day experience from the moment you get out of your car or off the tube and the sights that perhaps you usually take for granted on the actual match day but would be nice to record so that you can look back at in years to come.

We don’t want hundreds and hundreds of duplicate photos of the most obvious things. Maybe if people do contribute then they can perhaps upload one or two photos each then perhaps someone on here who has connections inside the club could let them know about this thread and hopefully they can take their own photos of their match day experience (calling Jack Sullivan to take some boardroom photos and players for the dressing room photos and ground staff for their pictures).

Perhaps the club could then choose the best 100 photos that are posted here and publish them in an official fans photo book or official programme of all our of experiences in photographs. I would suggest that the club then sell this official final season at the Boleyn photo book or photo programme once the season has ended and any profits go straight to a worthy cause such as the Bobby Moore fund.

Cunt me off if you like, but we are all West Ham and I thought it might be a nice idea to have a positive thread and get together to make a really big effort in contributing something for a momentous and emotional final season.

So please don’t let this thread die, have your mobiles ready for the season and upload only the very best photos you think would be fitting for everyone to share. And if anyone does seriously know anyone at the club that could explore the idea of using the photos here to make an official programme or photo book that could be sold so we can all help raise some money for a charity such as the Bobby Moore fund, then do your best to try and make it happen.

Cheers

Glenn

What an excellent idea. Sadly I won't be able to participate since I am trying to get my own scheme off the ground. Basically I am looking for people to grow their own vegetables at home, then to send them to Tesco for free, who will repackage them and then sell them back to the original grower.

Pay no attention, Glenn. People always feel a need to rubbish new ideas.

Very good Isaac.

In all seriousness, it was just an idea to create some good memories of Upton Park whilst also raising money for charity.

But if that idea is to be laughed at or if this thread is to be deleted or locked then so be it. It isn't me that is losing out.

I was joking about locking it. I think it's a great idea, it's just that threads like this tend to get ignored on here.

I didn't think of that. Can any Mods help with that? Can people whomail their photos to a particular Mod to upload on their behalf.

I think there is a way to convert a jpeg into a link on the internet and then people can post that link?

The mods can quite easily upload photos. They just choose not to.

Nice idea - I was thinking of doing a 'last season at the Boleyn' blog type thread with thoughts from each home game.

Your typical WHO poster response kind of puts you off from bothering though!

I sit on the front row behind the goal in BML so, in theory, should be able to get some nice photos. Not Steve Bacon quality though obviously.

I keep trying to get a picture of a lone bubble floating across a backdrop of the pitch but not had much success yet so perhaps I should leave it there!

Good idea in principle, however I'll struggle to take certain posters seriously who can't wait to leave "shit, lob sided" Upton Park, who then post sentimental pics.

Be better to set up something like a Flickr account and let everybody have access...or dare I say it, set up a WHO Facebook account, somebody would need to manage it though..,although the same can be said about posting them on WHO

Re: The official: The Final season at the Boleyn ground - in photographs.
You need to host your photos somewhere first, then post up a link.

Just don't put them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or any of that shite, as not everyone has an account.

Once the link appears on the thread, we'll embed it.
